Using a yarn needle and CB yarn. Securely tack on the leaf to the top part of the hat, slightly to the side of the hat.

Stem

Starting with CC yarn,

ch 2

Round 1: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join (8 sc sts)

Round 2: ch 1, sc in each st around, join (8 sc sts)

Weave starting end.

Round 3: ch 1, sc dec around, join (4 sc dec sts)

Stuff stem with stuffing. With CC yarn and a yarn needle, attach the stem to the top of the hat.

Face

With CD yarn, a yarn needle, 2 black buttons, tapestry needle and black tapestry thread. Attach the eyes with 2 black buttons, tapestry needle and black tapestry thread to the front of the hat. Then hand stitch the smile on with CD yarn and a yarn needle.

Glare

With CE yarn and a yarn needle, hand stitch lines in a row on the top right side of hat.
