No, it’s not a hat for a baby monkey, it’s an adorable crochet monkey hat for your favorite newborn baby!
This is a super fun hat to stitch up, and while there are a lot of details to make the monkey face it’s not difficult, it just takes some time to pull it all together.
This crochet hat pattern is sized for preemies of 1 to 3 pounds all the way up to a full-term, 9-11 pound baby.

Sew one ear to each side of hat.
Sew muzzle to center front of hat, just above the ribbing, and centered between ears. Sew eyes to center front of hat, directly above muzzle.
With B, sew a button to the center of each eye.
With A, embroider a small V for a nose, directly below and centered between eyes. With A, embroider a mouth below the nose.

Looks really cute, but the pictures are so close up cant get the full look of the hat. Seeing it on a real baby or a doll would be helpful.
I’ve made several of your adorable animal hat patterns with no problem but I can’t understand how to make the mouth for this monkey. Don’t know where to join after Rnd 1. In Rnd 2 after I ch 1, sc in next 9 and 2sc in next stitch I’m at the end of my round. So I joineded, then repeated the directions for the second part of Rnd 2, then went on to Rnd 3 which is obviously incorrect. Is there a video or can you explain how to complete the mouth?
Are the colors reversed for the eyes and mouth? In pattern it has light brown yarn for ears, and brown for eyes. Ot should be the other way around right?
