This is one of those crochet techniques that makes a hat instantly look cuter – and maybe just a little more complicated – but it doesn’t take a lot of time, effort, skill, or yarn to do it.
The hat is sized for a newborn and uses worsted weight yarn.
12″ circumference (yarn should stretch)
4 3/4″ long from knot to bottom of hat
*These are our finished measurements. If yours don't fit within this measurement, please check your gauge.
2 small black buttons
Yarn needle, to weave ends
6 dc stitches x 3 rows is 2″
*Change the hook size to obtain the gauge.
- (11 sts) means how many stitches you should have at the end of the row. That count does NOT include the chain.
- You may want to add a double crochet row or 2 if you wish to make it longer.
hdc-half double crochet
fpdc-front post double crochet
bpdc-back post double crochet
