Emma Cowl Crochet Pattern

This V Stitch Color Blocked Cowl was my favorite for over a year (I've had it stored for a long time), until I recently designed a new one. To say the least, this cowl screams my personality. I hope y'all love it as much as I do!

Materials

Super bulky weight yarn (6-super bulky)

  1. Cream
  2. Brown

N/P (10.00mm) crochet hook

Fabric scissors

Yarn needle, to weave ends

Gauge

9 dc stitches x 5 rows is 2″

*Change the hook size to obtain the gauge.

Notes

  • (11 sts) means how many stitches you should have at the end of the row. That count does NOT include the chain.

Special Stitches

‘v' stitch– sk 1 st, dc in next st, ch 1, dc in same st, sk 1 st

Puff stitch-pull up 3 times

Cowl

Starting with cream yarn,

ch 37, join

Round 1: sk 1 st, *dc in next ch sp, ch 1, dc in same ch sp, sk next 2 ch  sp* repeat * to * 10 more times around, dc in next ch sp, ch 1, dc in same ch sp, sk 1 ch sp, join (do NOT chain)

Round 2: sk 1 st, *dc in next st, ch 1, dc in same st, sk 2 sts* repeat * to * 10 more times around, dc in next st, ch 1, dc in same st, sk 1 st, join (do NOT chain)

Repeat round 2 Eight more times

Round 11: sk 1 st, *dc in next st, ch 1, dc in same st, sk 2 sts* repeat * to * 10 more times around, dc in next st, ch 1, dc in same st, sk 1 st, join, cut yarn, fasten off, weave ends

Top edging:

With brown yarn,

ch 2, sk 1 st, *puff st in next st, sk 1 st* repeat * to * 16 more times around, puff st in next st, join, cut yarn, fasten off, weave ends

Bottom edging:

With cream yarn,

ch 1, sc in each st around, join in first sc of round, cut yarn, fasten off, weave ends
