Y'all ready to take it to the next level?
To start, if y'all haven't made a domain email yet, you probably should. It will give y'all a more professional outlook.
Once you have that, sign up for affiliate programs, join Pinterest group boards and join Facebook groups that have your target audience. Make sure to follow group rules but share your content every once in awhile. It will feel weird at first, but y'all will get used to it. For affiliate links, make sure y'all aren't just sharing affiliate links to share affiliate links. It will destroy your credibility and your fans will no longer trust y'all. That isn't good, because they won't come back and y'all's blog will crash and burn. That's not good!
Next, y'all will want to reach out to companies to establish a working partnership. Be nice, polite, and professional. Y'all will get turned down or won't even hear back but keep going. If y'all give up, y'all won't ever get a yes.
Making your blog so that it is user friendly is probably one of the things most bloggers struggle with the most. What is user friendly? What I did was think back to when I followed blogs and didn't have one myself. What is it like for fans? I'm sure y'all are use to thinking from your prospective but it would probably be a best use of your time to think from their prospective. Make a list of things that you hate about blogs, then y'all have to think about reality and ask yourself what can I really do?
Speaking of photos. That is another thing y'all may want to improve. Photo quality is huge in the blogging world. Natural lighting is best, use a tripod if needed to get rid of the blurry and make sure y'all are editing photos. Speaking of editing, make sure your photos are huge or it will take forever to load your pages and take up a bunch of hosting storage. I'm going to stop talking about photography or I could go on forever. Y'all came check out my other blog, Stella Lamella (it's only just started) where y'all can learn how to photograph y'all crafts.
What next, what next? A blogging planner. Yes, there is such a thing and it is very helpful. Needing a blogging planner is a good thing. It means y'all are growing. There are a lot of blogging planners out there, and I have tried a few but this is by far my favorite.
How do I stand out? Be uniquely you. There is only of you so take advantage of it! Stop thinking right now. Yes, stop thinking. Y'all are getting scared. I know y'all are. Count to three, say out loud to yourself I can do this. Believe in yourself, because guess what?! People will love you! Granite some won't but that's okay. They aren't meant to follow y'all's blog and that's fine. Okay, y'all are starting to freak out again. Freak out done in 3, 2, 1. People just want to know y'all to relate to. So let them. Y'all will get use to it.
Being unique kinda goes with the next topic, branding. Y'all probably think branding is getting a banner, logo and theme right? Not right. That is maybe 1/4 of branding. Branding is so much more! It is how y'all talk, look (yes look, y'all better be in photos.), y'all's photos, social media, ads, media kit, email, and yes theme, logo and banner. Really everything. The easiest way to accomplish this is by using y'all's style.
NEXT! Haha yes, I'm getting loud. Media kit. What is a media kit? It's a 1-2 page PDF file that y'all send to companies upon request that include a brief about, blog stats, social media stats, etc. It should be designed to y'all blog theme to look professional. A media kit is a very professional thing.
Advertising. Most people don't think ads work although they usually aren't using their target audience or giving it enough time to work. Ads have to be consistent to work, on average someone has to see/hear multiple times before it is committed to memory.
Shops. It is said, affiliate links aren't doing as well as shops are nowadays. Don't get me wrong, keep the affiliate links. Bloggers don't make money from only one place. They make it in multiple ways. When picking a type of item to sell it is best not to sell the same thing y'all are giving away on y'all's blog. Who would buy what y'all give them for free? Not many.
Content. Yes, more about content in this post too. Content should be consistent. For example, every 2 weeks or every week or even 2 times a week. You could even do every Monday, and try not to miss. It will begin breaking trust with your fans.
Lastly, make sure y'all reply to comments. They will be more likely to come back, feel welcome and appropriated if y'all reply. If y'all happen to miss a few, you're only human.
Thank y'all for visiting, stick around and check out How to up my crochet blogging game and tell me what y'all think!
