Extra soft worsted weight yarn

• 1-3 lb: ~ 17 yards of yarn for hat only, not for add-ons
• 3-5 lb: ~34 yards of yarn for hat only, not for add-ons
• 6-8 lb: ~43 yards of yarn for hat only, not for add-ons

G-6 (4.00mm) crochet hook*

Fabric scissors*

3 dc stitches x 2 rows is 1″

Starting with light pink yarn,

ch 3

Row 1: 11 dc in 3rd ch from hook, join in top of first dc (12 sts)

Row 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, join in top of first dc (23 sts)

Row 3: ch 2, 2 dc in first st, dc in next 2 sts, *2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 sts* repeat * to * around dc in next st, join in top of first dc (30 sts)

Rows 4-6: ch 2, dc in each st around, join in top of first dc (30 sts)

Bows (Make 2)

Using this bow pattern with light pink yarn and G hook

Hair

1. cut 1 strand of yellow yarn 1 1/2′ long for each stitch around rim of hat
2. fold strand of yarn in half
3. take folded end through bottom stitch of hat inside, out
4. pull loose end of yarn through the loop on the other end (end you just pulled through hat)
5. continue all the way around hat

Braid Hair

1. part hair in half
2. part one side of hair in half again
3. twist hair toward hat inward
4. without loosing the twist, part into 3 parts
5. start braiding
6. stop braiding 2″ from end
7. tie bow tightly to secure braid
8. trim yarn
