Materials

Sport weight (2-Fine)

  • We used less than 100 grams of Premier Yarns, Cotton Fair, Baby Pink yarn.
  • We used less than 100 grams of Premier Yarns, Cotton Fair, White yarn. (optional)

G-6 (4.00mm) crochet hook

Fabric scissors

Yarn needle, to weave ends

Gauge

6 puff stitches x 4 rows is 2″

*Change your hook size to obtain the gauge.

Notes

  • This slouchy hat is very short. To make this slouchy longer repeat row 8 as many times as you would like.
  • ALWAYS start in the first chain stitch for rows 2-18, always start in same as joining for rows 19-23.
  • ALWAYS join in previous joining for rows 1-18, always join in first stitch for rows 19-23.
  • In the amount of stitches you should have at the end of the row, (ex. 11 sts). That count does not include the chain.
  • Pull up 3 times for puff stitch.

Row 2: 2 puff st in each ch sp around, join (Do NOT chain.) (12 sts)

Row 3: 2 puff st in first ch sp, puff st in next ch sp, *2 puff st in next ch sp, puff st in next ch sp* repeat * to * around, join (Do NOT chain.) (18 sts)

Row 4: 2 puff st in first ch sp, puff st in next ch sp, *2 puff st in next ch sp, puff st in next 2 ch sp* repeat * to * around, join (Do NOT chain.) (24 sts)

Row 5: 2 puff st in first ch sp, puff st in next ch sp, *2 puff st in next ch sp, puff st in next 3 ch sp* repeat * to * around, join (Do NOT chain.) (30 sts)

Row 6: 2 puff st in first ch sp, puff st in next ch sp, *2 puff st in next ch sp, puff st in next 4 ch sp* repeat * to * around, join (Do NOT chain.) (38 sts)

Rows 8-18: puff st in each st ch sp around, join (Do NOT chain row 8-17.) (54 sts)

Row 19: ch 1, sc evenly around, join (55 sts)

Row 20-22: ch 1,  fpsc in first st, bpsc in next st, *fpsc in next st, bpsc in next st* repeat * to * around, join (55 sts)

Row 23: ch 1, fpsc in first st, bpsc in next st, *fpsc in next st, bpsc in next st* repeat * to * around, join, cut yarn, fasten off, weave ends (55 sts)

Bow (optional)

With white yarn.

ch 75, join

Row 1: ch 1, sc in each st around, join (76 sts)

Rows 2-14: ch 1, sc in each st around, join (76 sts)

Edging: On opposite side (beginning chain side) ch 1, sc in each st around, join, cut yarn, fasten off, weave ends (76 sts)

  1. pinch middle of bow together
  2. wrap yarn around several times
  3. tie both ends together
  4. attach bow to hat with the middle of the bow with a yarn needle
  5. take 2 more pieces of yarn
  6. attach each side of bow with yarn and a yarn needle
