Yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a loop through st and first loop on hook. Yo again and pull through the last two loops on the hook.

Begin using Silver Gray and make a magic ring
Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), Make 3 more dc and ch 2. Make 4 more dc and pull to tighten (8 dc)
