Get comfy with your beverage of choice and prepare to meet yet another talented crochet designer. This week we get to meet N greet Tera from Trifles N Treasures better!
Meet N Greet Tera! Let's relax and take a few moments to get to know this talented lady. I will ask the questions we're all dying to know the answers to, and Tera will give us a peek inside her crochet world. I can't think of a better way to spend my morning!
What is the first project you ever made? I made myself a belt when I was 8 years old-it was hideous and I loved it! Lol
What is your favorite crochet hook? Ooh-tough one….I love my Boye hooks, and H is my go-to size, but I also adore my Furls wooden hooks! They are so comfortable in my hand.
What is your favorite yarn? Another tough one…I like the softness of I Love This Yarn, and I love the colors and squishiness of Lion Brand Tweed Stripes. I also love designing with the Lion Brand Bonbons Cotton-it's fun and challenging at the same time!
Why did you start crocheting? My Mom has always crocheted…she taught me when I was 8, and it just seemed like the natural thing to do.
Where is your favorite place to crochet and why? Stuffed into the corner of the loveseat, so I can keep an eye on the kids, or sitting on my bed, propped up with a stack of pillows, because it's comfortable.
What is your most favorite project you ever made and why? My Crocodile Stitch Baby Booties-hands down! I researched the heck out of that stitch, and NO ONE had done booties with it, so I figured out how to get the look I was going for, and published the first pattern for them… There have since been several similar patterns released, but I will always know mine were first!
What is your favorite crochet stitch? Hdc seems to be my go-to stitch, but I really like to play with new stitch patterns, too!
What would be your crochet, dream come true? I recently got to meet my crochet idol in person-Miss Sandy Powers, of Sandy's Cape Cod Originals! That was the best day EVER-LOL!
When did you know crochet was a passion of yours? I think I've always known…I've always been drawn to the beautiful colors and soft feel of yarn…
What crochet designer do you admire most? Sandy Powers! She is an amazing designer, and an amazing friend…Very supportive and uplifting, and has some truly unique designs.
Do you have any advice for crocheters? Don't be afraid to try new stitch patterns and techniques! It took me 20 years to try the post stitch-lol….Now, it's one of my faves!
