Get comfy with your beverage of choice and prepare to meet yet another talented crochet designer. This week we get to meet & greet Jess from Screen to Stitch better!
We are going to relax, and take a few moments to get to know this talented lady. I will ask the questions we're all dying to know the answers to, and Jess will give us a peek inside her world. I can't think of a better way to spend my morning!
What is the first project you ever made? An amigurumi elephant.
What is your favorite crochet hook? I use the Furls Odyssey in size H the most. It's so comfy and futuristic looking, I love it!
What is your favorite yarn? I love Loops and Threads Impeccable. It's perfect for amigurumi and super easy to work with.
Why did you start crocheting? My Grandma taught me to crochet for fun and I just got hooked! hehe
Where is your favorite place to crochet and why? I love to crochet on the couch, which watching Netflix. Not original I know, but cozy!
What is your most favorite project you ever made and why? Not crochet, but one of my favs 😀 is the Honey Cowl.
What is your favorite crochet stitch? My favorite stitch is the single crochet. I love to zip through projects that use this stitch. I just recently got into graphganing so it's fun to see a simple sc turn into an entire image.
What would be your crochet, dream come true? My crochet dreams all involve having fun with other crocheters. Whether that's at a conference or going on a crochet retreat, I think that's the best part about crochet…sharing it with others.
When did you know crochet was a passion of yours? In college, when I started pouring more and more time into crocheting because I just couldn't stop…that was when I started my business.
What crochet designer do you admire most? I love Twinkie Chan because she always looks like she's having tons of fun!
Do you have any advice for crocheters? Always try new things. New stitches and patterns can open up a whole new world of fun in crochet and that's one of the things that I love most about this art, is that there is an endless supply of cool things you can do with it!
